Public Affairs & Communication Unit

The Public Affairs Unit serves as the communication bridge between the Mushin Local Government and its citizens.
It ensures transparency, accountability, and accessibility by delivering timely, accurate, and engaging information about government programs, policies, and initiatives.

Through strong media relations, public enlightenment campaigns, and digital communication strategies, the unit enhances public confidence and participation in governance.
Its mission is to foster mutual trust, promote civic engagement, and maintain a positive image for Mushin Local Government across all media platforms.

Core Responsibilities

Media & Public Relations

Managing all interactions with journalists, media houses, and communication partners to ensure accurate representation of council activities.

Public Information & Advocacy

Producing press releases, newsletters, reports, and official publications to keep the public informed of key developments.

Digital & Social Media Management

Coordinating the council’s social media presence to ensure real-time communication, feedback, and citizen engagement.

Public Awareness Campaigns

Organizing campaigns on health, sanitation, education, and community development to promote public enlightenment and responsible citizenship.

Crisis Communication

Managing communication during emergencies or sensitive public events to maintain calm, order, and transparency.

Event Coordination

Planning and promoting community events, town hall meetings, and public ceremonies in collaboration with other departments.
