Honourable Tunbosun Haruna Aruwe is a visionary Nigerian public servant, seasoned administrator, and grassroots political leader with a distinguished record of service in local government administration. Born on February 5, 1980, in Lagos State, he currently serves as the Executive Chairman of Mushin Local Government, Lagos State, a position he assumed in July 2025 following his victory at the polls under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
A proud indigene of Mushin, Hon. Aruwe began his educational journey at Megbon Primary School, Mushin, and proceeded to Isolo Secondary School, Isolo, where he obtained his Senior School Certificate. Pursuing his passion for management and leadership, he furthered his studies at Igbajo Polytechnic, Igbajo, Osun State, where he earned both an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) and a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Business Administration between 2018 and 2023. In 2024, he received an official Letter of Exclusion from the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
A lifelong learner committed to professional growth, Hon. Aruwe has obtained several prestigious certifications. He is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Public Administrators of Nigeria, a Member of the Chartered Institute of Local Government and Public Administration of Nigeria, and a Member of the Association of Local Government Vice Chairmen of Nigeria. He also holds the title of Senior Chartered Public Manager from the Chartered Institute of Public Management of Nigeria.
His pursuit of excellence has taken him to globally recognized training institutions, including the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS) in July 2024 and 1ST Line Consulting, London, in April 2024, where he honed his expertise in policy formulation, leadership in local governance, public administration, financial autonomy, and digital marketing.
Hon. Aruwe’s political career spans over two decades, beginning in 1999. He has been a loyal participant in Nigeria’s democratic evolution, having played key roles in major political parties such as the Alliance for Democracy (AD), Action Congress (AC), Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), and now the All Progressives Congress (APC). His dedication and leadership earned him the trust of the people of Mushin, leading to his election as Vice Chairman of Mushin Local Government for two consecutive terms, 2017 to 2021 and 2021 to 2025 before his elevation to the office of Chairman.
As Executive Chairman, Hon. Aruwe continues to demonstrate visionary leadership rooted in community service, accountability, and inclusive governance.
